Christmas is all about community spirit and tradition, this year Flower30 wanted to spread a little festive fun around our local town Holt.

Back in the sunny days of July we started to think about what we could do. Christmas wreaths was the obvious choice. The Holt lights committee loved the idea and worked out 12 areas of Holt where the wreaths would be placed.

This year the theme was decided the classic song 12 days of Christmas became the inspiration.

Shopkeepers were approached who were happy to be part of the Christmas trail.

Once mossing the traditional wire wreath bases starts and attaching wonderful festive foliages including blue pine and of course the prickly holly and wonderful fruits of Ivy I know it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Props were sourced or made and many of the shopkeepers really got involved.

Then on November 25th when many of the shopkeepers looked fantastic dressed as pantomime dames or leading boys, the scene was set on the evening the lights were switched on, the fun trail was ready to enjoy while admiring the beautiful lights.

Dotted around Holt there are twelve traditionally handmade festive wreaths depicting the partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, three French hens and so on.

For your chance to win a bottle of champagne all you need to do is pick up a trail leaflet from Adnams, Starlings, Sowerbys or Byfords wander around the lovely streets of Holt then let us know where each of the wreaths can be found.

The Christmas trail runs until New Year’s Eve.

We will give you a little clue of the designs you are looking for.
